For ages and ages the human kind feared that the world will someday soon end. Something like a psychotic fear of dieing. They created myths, legends, short tales about the inevitable ending of the world. It's ending in tragic disaster. They created even Gods and evil spirits to justify their uncapability to predict the future. And combat the deamons inside them.
Or it might be just because human kind has a limited thinking therefore cannot understand eternity, therefore creating different kind of stories about his own existance someday vanishing.
I think this is wrather odd, judgeing by the fact that they cannot understand something, they put-up their mind together and invent some silly little stories with Gods and goblins eating the world, that in their limited opinion certify the fact that eternity is just a myth. Then, what? They get scared about their own sotries, and then see the mass hysteria!
Strange thing, the human mind!
So, tales of the ending world started back in the days when humans learned how to think. At the same time they discovered that there ain't no fun in living in perfect harmony without fears. Ah, sweet old fears, they keep you busy, you see...
What do you do when you have nothing better to do? You start shaking, and thinking about your ending.
What do you do when your math problems give you headakes? You think about the tragedy that will come upon one's faith, by all means.
It seams seams that the human kind is frightened about the round figures aswell. Why else would they always predict the ending of the world at exactly 1000 years from the last monumental prediction?
Of Course, no one here remembers how was it like in the year 1000 A.C. or ... B.C., but, better yet, let us think about the not-so-long-ago year 2000. Everyone remembers, right?
Remember the desperation of the human kind thinking regarding the date changing to 00, on all personal computers and servers around the world. The predicted disaster? All colapsing. Starting with the banks and everything around them. Because everything revolves around the money, ain't that so?
No of that really happened, but the fear lives on and on.
Now, another tragic theory, a much more improved and well documentated source of fear, with much more scientific evidence is the metheorite hypothese.
This one is new and supose to happen in about 20 years, or so. They are not sure yet.
Of Course, they've made up plans how to destroy the bully metheorite, sourt of plans, good plans, always expecting brighter minds.
Big moggul names like NASA and the Soviets gathered around a table and showed the world how inteligent they are. In 20 years, they will meet again. And again... And again. They've solved the problem. Untill next time, that is.
All that they could come up with ... so far... is something like in the Armagedon movie, like changing the metheorite's traecthory, or shooting it with some special lasers that will defenetly dispers it on the athmosfere.
There! The worse part is over. The waiting, on the other hand will kill us.
We'll just have to wait and see what those men are made of, and if they can be our supermen.
Untill then, we can start being afrade, doing everything that we didn't have the guts to do, drinking a lot of bear and smoking a lot of stuff. Doesn't matter anyway. We're all going to die anyway.
Ah, and those guys could continue in spending all the budget monney that they can get their hand on, but why worry? Their our saveiours.
The End.
P.S. This is a paper that I did for some friend of mine. I hope she gets a good grade on it.
All hail to me! Got my 2000!
